The final full moon of the year has come to pass, and I, for one, am so tired. When I was looking ahead at December’s astrology, I knew it would be a mess (I wrote about it here and here.) Sunday’s full moon in Gemini looked like the messiest of the mess. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I assumed, for me, there would be some social chaos, an off the rails holiday party maybe. I also had high hopes of getting ahead on work and planning a big launch. Instead, on Friday night I felt a scratch in my throat that quickly descended into a mystery virus that had me feeling like I’d been hit by a truck. I canceled all my plans and got nothing done. I’m keeping this Gemini full moon missive relatively short because of that. (And unfortunately, didn’t have the energy to put together my astrological thoughts on Luigi Mangione, but just know that I am certain he is a Leo rising.)
What I’m VERY excited to tell you about is:

Anyway back to this current astrology. Mars is retrograde in Leo—the main culprit of burnout—and opposed Venus in Aquarius this week—the main culprit of anything hot, bothered, or spicy going on. As of Sunday, Mercury is no longer retrograde, but until January 2, they’ll be meandering through the same part of the zodiac where they just went forward and back again. All the cards are out on the table, but now those cards need to be sorted and put somewhere. What the Full Moon in Gemini ruled by Mercury at a stand still says to me is: embrace the mess.
Some important dates and themes to reflect on for this Full Moon in Gemini:
This Full Moon is culmination of events that occurred around the New Moon in Gemini on June 6, 2024.
It’s also connected to a New Moon in Gemini from June 17, 2023 and a First Quarter Moon in Gemini from March 16, 2024.
This Full Moon is at 23º Gemini, a part of the zodiac associated with Tarot’s 10 of Swords— a card that speaks to exhaustion, surrender, and overthinking galore.
The Full Moon goes exact square Neptune (confusion/haze) and conjunct Jupiter (abundance/opportunity), activating the Jupiter-Saturn square (long term world building and “the culture”). The Jupiter-Saturn square goes exact on December 24, connecting back to the first square on August 19, as well as the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of December 21, 2020.
In lieu of a “horoscope,” as you reflect on these dates, here’s an important question to consider for each sign. Read for your rising sign, but you can also look to your sun sign (if born during the day) or moon sign (if born at night) for a second opinion.
Aries: How can you make space for your dreams while still honing your responsibilities so that magic isn’t just an escape but your everyday?
Taurus: How can you accept generosity and trust more in your community so you can feel more abundant everyday?
Gemini: How can you get soft in relationships and get hard at work so that you feel more like yourself?
Cancer: How can you prioritize both your health and your hunger for exploration as you build something magical behind the scenes?
Leo: How can you make space for both grief and pleasure as you step into a more expansive community?
Virgo: How can you let go of your core need for perfection and lean into solid relationships to show up as an expansive leader?
Libra: How can you make your schedule and routine more sustainable so you stop self sabotaging your big dreams?
Scorpio: How can you cultivate self worth and recycle heartbreak so that you can share your resources and abundance?
Sagittarius: How can you be kinder to yourself and more solid in your foundations so you can show up as a better partner and teammate?
Capricorn: How can you surrender to rest and release outdated routines to maintain your health and your sanity?
Aquarius: How can you connect and gather resources to make the creative work of your dreams and all of your erotic fantasies come true?
Pisces: How can you show up in with more self confidence, as a more defined leader, to create an expansive legacy?
The Full Moon in Gemini definitely brought the chaos vibes, but it was also a true last call for nonsense from the past that no longer serves. As we head into the final two weeks of the year, surrender to everything that needs to be let go.
The Astrology of 2025 is a wild ride. Not to be dramatic, but it’s an initiation into a new era. There’s so much space to level up, to make a big change, to soar (or at least find cruising altitude). But it also starts slow. What’s happening might not be clear until the spring, and then it gets supercharged over the summer. I’ll be here to give you the hope that whatever you want really is possible. (& we’ll get into all of it if you join me for 2025: A Strange Year).
more soon xo, jaime
