On Venus Retrograde in Leo, part three
Now that we’ve looked into the past (part 1) and taken a look at where its hitting our charts (part 2), it’s time consider Venus’ relationship with the other planets. How does this influence the story? Venus connects with Mars, Jupiter and Uranus during this retrograde, and notably doesn’t make an aspect with Saturn. Let’s get into what that means.
Venus and Mars - hot and bothered
Venus is the planet of connection while Mars is the planet of separation. Opposites attract but they need to be within each other’s orbit to make the attraction happen. Mars and Venus usually make several aspects to each other throughout the year, but now, they’re playing a game of cat and mouse. Tension is building. But there’s no climax.
Mars entered Leo on May 20 and Venus followed on June 5. If moving at their usual speed, Venus would conjoin Mars, but because Venus is slowing down to go retrograde, she never quite catches up. They get within three degrees of each other on July 2 before completely separating when Mars enters Virgo on July 10. Venus and Mars won’t meet again until February 22, 2024 when they conjoin at 6º Aquarius.
Mars and Venus together in the same sign (especially the SOLAR, FIRE sign) brings heat, passion and eroticism. But this this is a lot of excitement without consummation. It’s edging. It’s a waiting game. Adjust your expectations accordingly. Payoff is coming. Just not immediately.
