HAPPY SEPTEMBER!
We did it! We made it through the long grueling astro of Summer 2023. July was a lot and August was not enough and here we are in September: just right. Or at least just right enough in the grand scheme of the 2020’s. Looking at September’s astrology feels like a time warp. A simple month. Can you imagine? I haven’t seen a month with so little activity and such general positivity since, I think, August 2019?
Some housekeeping before we get into the highlights:
BOOKS ARE OPEN FOR SEPTEMBER — I’ll be both taking some time off—my first vacation of sorts in … way too many years—in October, and will also be updating my offers and prices come later this month. So if you’d like to lock in an appointment at my current rates, now’s the time to do it! I especially can’t wait to see more Virgos for a Solar Return reading.
After a long hiatus, Errands magazine is back baby! Your favorite queer “quarterly” mag is headed to the printer and the summer issue has proceeds going to COMMUNITIES UNITED for POLICE REFORM. You can grab your copy here — I wrote a story on the astrology of why 2014 IS BACK BABY!!!! + horoscopes!
I’ve recently discovered that my absolute favorite thing to do is small group readings. Do you have an event coming up this fall — milestone birthday? bachelorette? bestie weekend retreat? — that could benefit from a cute astro hang? The ones I’ve done so far this year have been so much fun. I find astro insights hit harder when you have your BFF or sister sitting next you shouting, “OMG!!!!! That’s you!!!!!!” We can do Zoom or I can travel to your event in NYC and the Hudson Valley if you want to hang in person. Email me if this sounds like it would be fun to discuss rates :)
and now for what we have to look forward to this month

September arrives like a cooling breeze after summer rain. Sweet and a little melancholy. Sure, it’s a temporary ease in a wildly fluctuating timeline, but the point is to enjoy it. Don’t take the good vibes for granted! Venus retrograde ends on the 3rd just as Jupiter retrograde begins on the 4th: the sweetheart and the enthusiast stand still together, heightening optimism and tangible pleasures at once. Indulgence peaks around the 17th and so does the possibility of overdoing it. Plan feasts with care.
The thing is this isn’t a normal harvest season. The usual Virgo time scramble to get all the peaches get jammed and tomatoes canned is rewritten on the spot. Mercury is retrograde in Virgo through the 15th revealing the chaos that belies Virgo’s effortless sleight of hand. When overwhelm creeps up, take notes instead. We’re getting rare insight into systems building genius! Discoveries made around the New Moon in Virgo on the 14th will go into manuals and handbooks for how to live for years to come.
Libra season begins on the 23rd and eclipse pressures start to arrive (read: tension and rising nerves). The next storm won’t come through until October but the “calm before” is here. The Full Moon in Aries on the 29th incites bold action allowing us to take hold of the narrative amidst some surprising developments. New frontiers require taking a risk.

I’ve been listening to Stevie Nicks’ “Crystal” a lot this week. It’s the first song on a playlist I found in my Spotify feed called “Protect Your Energy.” I thought this was a staff-made curated playlist, but it was created by the algorithm just for me. I usually find Spotify algorithm playlists to be absolute trash, but this one is hitting. Anyway, I think “Crystal” is the perfect way to usher in this month of necessary ease.
Do you always trust your first initial feeling
Special knowledge holds truth bears believing
I turned around
And the water was closing all around
Like a glove
Like the love that had finally, finally found me
Then I knew
In the crystalline knowledge of you
