Today at 1:34 pm ET, there’s a Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio. As I talked about on this week’s pod, this eclipse is a purge. Whether that’s emptying your closets, resetting your follower count or donating all of those books from passion project’s past currently collecting dust on your desk to a local secondhand shop, it’s time to let go and let god, ok?

Today is the the final eclipse in Scorpio for almost a decade and the final eclipse in Scorpio on the South Node for almost twenty years. I call the South Node “the cosmic garbage disposal.” It’s a release valve. A place of lessening and decrease. This one goes exact at 14º Scorpio, part of the decan Austin Coppock calls Dual Distillation, associated with the 6 of Cups that the Golden Dawn called Pleasure. Dual distillation is an alchemical process in which the matter passes between two vessels, energy goes from one alembic to another. This is alchemy that requires deep trust and cooperation. The 6 of Cups in the Rider-Waite depicts two young children (or are they adults in children’s clothing): one handing a flower in a cup to another. It’s a sweet and innocent image, and one that is often associated with nostalgia.
This begs the question: is the dual distillation process meant to destroy nostalgia? It seems that alchemy is about the future and nostalgia prevents one from even addressing the present. With this eclipse on the south node, our task is to walk away from past narratives and make trusting choices for the future. This eclipse is about letting go, but for real this time.
