HAPPY LIBRA SEASON, bb!
I know, I know, I know, these horoscopes for the New Moon in Libra are getting to you late. Listen, I’ve been busy (and also not busy) and I didn’t want to rush to send something out just because I had to. Because the gods of productivity were forcing an assignment upon me.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the way astrology has become a content farm, and how I don’t want to perpetuate it. Yes, my ancestors were farmers, and yes, I’m a millennial who related heavily to that Fleet Foxes lyric about working in an orchard til I’m sore, but that doesn’t mean everyday is a harvest. Though it’s convenient that the planets create natural deadlines, sometimes there are vibes to be gathered elsewhere. But is a horoscope any less relevant just because it’s “late”??? (she asked, to no one). I’ve said before and I’ll say it again: astrology sometimes works best in hindsight.
The New Moon went exact at 2º Libra on Sunday, September 25 at 5:54 PM EDT. This New Moon fell in the first decan of Libra, a part of the zodiac associated with the 2 of Swords in the Tarot (pictured above). The 2 of Swords depicts a woman sitting at the edge of a body of water, a waning crescent moon sitting just above the horizon in the sky. It’s dawn, but she’s blindfolded. Two swords crossed in front of her. She meditates. This card is about tough choices. This card is about sitting with indecision. It’s about contemplating the NOT/BUT and BOTH/AND of everything. The suit of swords is connected to air and the mind, but the body of water pictured in this card weaves in the depth of emotion.
This New Moon in Libra is about making choices with both the head and the heart. It’s not easy to get both on the same page.
